December 24 2021 - Running by torch light š¦

It was my last day (half day) at work before the hols. I got up early and went for a run so that I could get back and finish before my meetings started.
It was still dark as I set off so I took my head torch. Some of the footpaths are like tunnels between rows of hedges so can get really dark. Others are ok because of nearby street lights.
As I progressed, it did slowly get lighter. I ended up just over 7 km which I was quite happy with as a start to my day.

Ooh spooky! Reminds me of when I tried night mountain biking. I found that the shadows play tricks on the mind so I stick to daylight now, ha ha. š±
Yeah, I don't think I would do too well on a bike. These paths I already know quite well but you are right, the light can sometimes play tricks.

Solid run, how cold was it?
It was actually warmer than some of the previous mornings, probably because of the cloudy and rainy weather. It was about 7C.

Damn solid effort running in 7 degrees. We whinge here in Aus when it hits 17!
I actually quite like running at that temperature. It gets difficult when it is really cold. One morning the week before, it was -2C when I went out. The first 2 km was such hard and then I started warming up.
The thing about running in heat, is I get so thirsty.
