Berastagi with an Unusual Route For Running

Sometimes doing unusual things is really fun. That's why we need to get out of our comfort zone. I need a break from everything, even if it's just for a day or two. That's enough. The city of Medan is truly a city full of discomfort. Full of dust and very dirty air. I really want to enjoy fresh air with oxygen that can filter my lungs and then make my body comfortable.

Yesterday afternoon, my husband and I thought of something spontaneous. We planned to run in the morning in Berastagi, the highest city in North Sumatra. Berastagi is the closest peak here. Even though I'm not a pro runner, I like running and walking around. Just 7km per day is enough to keep my diabetes under control. You know it's really worth doing and becoming a habit.

This morning, even though raindrops wet the road. I, with full intention, put on socks and shoes, drank a little water and enjoyed 3 dates for energy capital. It's cold, something I never feel at home, here I feel like I'm taking an ice bath. In the first kilometer, I walked fast and enjoyed the fresh air here. It seemed that many people were still sleeping and this street looked very quiet. I was afraid, but I thought I had to let go of that fear.

I was at the Berastagi Traditional Fruit Market, Berastagi city point. There are pine trees growing along the road. But I'm really a little uncomfortable with a lot of horse manure. If it's after 08.00am, this market will be filled with lots of people and horse-drawn carriages.

Not far from the Berastagi Traditional Fruit Market, there is an old building and opposite it there is a church that looks old. You can see that the weather is quite cloudy and a little dark. But, the roads here are very beautiful. I like this section of road because it is full of various plants and trees.

I like Berastagi because many of the villas here still maintain the architecture of the old buildings. There are several villas and houses that I photographed. Most of it is made of wood and it still stands very sturdy, even rented to anyone. One of them is this villa, which is spacious with a yard that is used for farming and is rented to the public. Berastagi is indeed a recreational place for the people of Medan city for holidays.

Of course, Berastagi is at the top of a mountain, next to it is a very active volcano, Mount Sinabung. So it is clear that this area is very fertile. The humidity in the air, the minerals from the volcano that are carried around and also the weather are very good for farming.

Most of the people here do farming. Like this very large land, it is also used for planting cauliflower. It's very fertile and that makes my farming soul even happier. This morning was really different from usual mornings. Occasionally entertain yourself even when you are running. I'm thinking about buying a large area of land here for my old age. I should save more for that. I think a lot of people want to do it. Enjoy old age in an area full of fresh air and fun activities such as farming and gardening.

The villa we rented is at the top of the city of Berastagi. Gundaling is the highest place and you can see the surroundings, like I did. I also bought 4 eggs for daily protein. I think we really need to interpret what we eat. Since it doesn't carry whey protein, I will boil the egg and eat the egg white. Don't laugh at me who is very happy taking photos up here.

This is one of the views I could see from the villa where we stayed. I really want to share it with you and can feel the same way. I think fortune is not about how much money you can make, but rather that you can enjoy your money by doing things like this.
