Bangladesh Historical Victory And My Cricket Analysis

"I think the belief is very important. I think every single player believed that we can come back any time.
~ Najmul Hossain (Bangladesh Cricket Team Captain)

Hello BD Community! Welcome to my blog. Being a Sportsman, I'm here to Congratulate Bangladeshi Cricket Team for their today Historical Victory against Pakistan in the Test Match Series. All credit goes to Team Management, Captain, Coaches, and Players; it was indeed a winning knock. Bengali Tigers showed outclass performance in all departments.

After this defeat, I accept the Downfall of Pakistani Cricket Team as a Pakistani Fan. They not only need to show improvement in Cricket, but also they need more practice in the selection of some good shots. Modern Cricket has changed a lot but our team is still playing like 20th Century cricket.

Shortcomings in PCT

I have seen Cricket when our Cricket team was the best in all formats. Players like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar, Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Younis Khan, and Waqar Younis not only have earned good fame for themselves but also played a major role in winning many World Cup Titles. Now I'm panicked by the performance of my team. With good research and a good analysis, I have found the following shortcomings in the Current Pakistani Team.

1. Overconfidence

The only sport that is well-known and very popular in Pakistan is cricket. Our media broadcasted even a small success of any player on media with exaggeration. With this attitude, our Cricket players are feeling overconfidence in all formats. Our nation is disappointed with their failures in each series. Instead of Improving, they show overconfidence in the media and brag about their names in the World. Whether it is Shahin or Babar, both star players are limited to their words, and they have not made a remarkable achievement on the ground for a time.

2.Grouping and Politics

Politics in any sport is destructive and enough to engulf merit and transparency. When a government is changed, it brings its own Selection committee and Chairperson for the Cricket Board which promotes its favorite players, ignoring talent and Merit. Consecutive changes in captaincy and poor selection resulted in Grouping. This favoritism always resulted in a team that is unaware of cricket strategies and mentalities.

3. Poor Cricket Structure

Many countries have changed their cricket Structure. I appreciate the cricket Structure in England and Australia. Hence, their players are not only playing modern Cricket but also getting remarkable achievements, whether it is any series or important events. The Domestic Cricket in Pakistan is still traditional. Our Grounds are not according to ICC rules and regulations. Cricket Selection should be started from school to street cricket, but if you have a strong reference with the Government, then you have a strong chance of selection in Cricket. Moreover, PCB puts extra pressure on Captains instead of Punishing individual players. Hence, our captain makes poor decisions not only within the ground but also outside the ground.

What I learned

If I show justice in this series, then a team with poor fielding, bad batting, and weak decisions can't win a single match. Team efforts matters a lot, and individual players can do nothing. Catch-dropping and miss-fielding are common in Pakistani Cricket. Additionally, our players feel that they are the world-ranked players although they are zero in sportsmanship. I learned some tricks about a team from Bangladeshi Cricket Team. Their Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, was not only active in the ground but also active on the benches. He was taking not only risks but also making more brave decision than Shan Masood. If we are cricketer then we should beleive in team work. We should synchronised our performance with our team. No grouping, focus on targets, Strong Beleive on ourselves and rights decisions at right time can bring many achievements for us. Thanks!
