Will Wicked Boys finally win League 1?

After 80 Rabona seasons of trying,the Wicked Boys FC look set to clinch the Leage 1 title and gain promotion to the league of champions. This is a milestone event for the club that has been through the wringer in past seasons.

Speaking with the media ahead of a crunch tie with Agripinos FC, the manager of the Wicked Boys, @belemo had this to say.

About topping the league

The lads have given their all throughout the season and what we have now is a reward for that input. From the front to the back, the boys have been excellent and all we have to do is give that one final push.

About complacency

A 9 point lead at the top is exactly where we want to be at this stage of the season. However, there are no signs of complacency creeping in. We're focused on our next fixture and intend to give our best*.

About Being replaced by @blanchy at the beginning of the season

This is football and there will always be rumours. I can't stop the media from printing and publishing what they choose to. For what it's worth, my job was never in doubt and while Blanchy is an exceptional manager, he's far too Spursy to handle a project of this magnitude

About the defensive resilience

Oh you have to give credit where it's due and all credit goes to the backroom staff that have put in an impressive shift. It is not just about conceding the fewest goals in the league, it is about the team's willpower and never say die attitude.
Right now, we're in a good place and teams know that when they face us, they're coming up against a group of warriors that will bleed for the badge. We're taking it one game at a time, grinding out results and hopefully, at the end of the season, we can look back and be proud of our achievement.

About Injuries and Absentees

The squad has a clean bill of health and the boys have looked good in training. We missed Rowe and Jim Gu's presence for a decent part of the season but it is nice to have them back now. The whole squad is ready to fight it out in the last few matches.

About Transfers

Right now, the squad at my disposal is the best for me and we'd rather not speak about players from other teams. However, if anything changes, we'll still not tell you because those are private matters

About qualifying for the league of champions

Well, we can't count our eggs before they hatch, so there's still a lot of work to do. However, yes, we will certainly strengthen the squad, if we qualify.
The plan is to get players that suit the system, rather than just pick up random big name signings from the market.

About specific names

Again, we can't speak of players in other teams. We're focused on the job at hand.

About my future

I've been contacted by a couple of clubs that I won't mention but the truth is that my intention is to remain at this club for as long as they need my service. I love this place and I'd like to continue building this squad.

About participation in HiveFPL
