3 Points is the only "title" that matters

It has been only two games into the season and we are currently one of two teams to keep a 100% record so far, with City being the other team. Things haven't really started well for Liverpool while Spurs and Chelsea have played each other in a very feisty draw that I reckon represents a major point of their season.

In any case, our fast start to the season has started bringing up whispers of a title tilt but I'd rather stay humble and just focus on getting three points. For what it's worth, we have looked quite impressive and we actually look like a solid team but there's no reason to get ahead of ourselves.

With our starting lineup and some of the other names in the squad, I can see us getting favourable results in our next six figures. However, with the level of competition in the EPL, nothing is promised, as Liverpool's stuttering start to the season highlights.

Our next match is against Bournemouth, a recently promoted team and I have to say, it really feels like a dangerous fixture. The last time we played against a recently promoted team, we lost the game and a couple of weeks later, people were putting us in the "relegation battle".

That was last season and that was under a very horrible situation that included numerous players out with COVID, injuries and a team that had barely any preseason between them.

This season, things are much different heading into this game away from home and I'm feeling quite optimistic. If we go about our business as we tend to do in the early stages of the game, we could have the tie wrapped up in the first 20 minutes.

We generally start strongly and try to squeeze our opponents with our high-intensity pressing and fast-paced passing. I reckon that if the boys turn up on the day, we should have a bit too much for the Cherries to handle and come out of there with three points.

One game at a time

A domineering performance at the Cherries will undoubtedly intensify conversations about a title tilt and this will persist for as long as we keep playing the way we have been playing.

There seems to be a new found resilience in the team, with the boys playing like they don't believe they can lose. That type of confidence is very contagious and you can just feel it in every action taken on the pitch.

Even on bad days, as we had against Palace, we were still able to get a good result. We required saves from Ramsdale but at the end of the day, you just sense something impressive is brewing.

At the end of the Palace and Liverpool draw, Patrick Vieira, the Eagles' manager, highlighted how he believes Arsenal and Liverpool are title contenders based on his experience of the two games. It is high praise, I must say but we have to stay humble and accept that we are still some way off a title tilt.

In any case, all we can do is ensure we keep trying to win each match as it comes along. There are no easy matches and every single three point is very important.

People often talk about the importance of the "big matches" between the top 6 but in reality, 3 points is 3 points and your season starts looking bad when you don't win the games you're "expected" to win.

I hope we get a fast start, with a focused and hungry team on Saturday. We're still quite young and still have a lot to learn. Until we meet again, up the Arsenal.

It is a good start for the Gunners, if they could mantain this form till the end of the season they would really go far.
