Hello, Dubai Again : April 10 2025
Final Leg.
Two days to go before my sister heads back home to the Philippines, we decided to go to Dubai 2 days before her flight. This is to give time to some last-minute tours of the Museum of the Future and the Dubai Mall.
We were okay that we did not go to the Museum of the Future last week. But a dear friend suggested that we go, since it's connected to the metro and the walkways going there are covered, so it is not going to be hot.
Okay, so Museum of the Future it is!
We took the train from the Ibn Battuta Metro Station to the Emirates Tower Station. From there, there is a connecting walkway to the Museum.
We thought that we could not enter, but yes, entry to the ground floor of the museum is open to the public. Lots of tourists were there, just wanting to take photos. 🤪
We also went around outside the museum to get upclose photos of the iconic building and that hand - ✌️ a symbol of Victory, Love, and Win.
After a fee more pictures, we decided to head back to the metro to get to our next destination.
Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.
Three birds in one shot- to go around Dubai Mall, get a glimpse of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and to watch the Dubai Fountain show.
But yeah, that involved a loooot of walking. From the Dubai Mall metro station, it was about 1.5 km walk to get to the mall itself. Not to mention that the mall is too big, we literally used Google Map to navigate it.
Dubai Fountain Show.
We had late lunch at the food court first and then went around a bit to look for a sweater or jacket, or something my sister could use in the plane because she forgot her jacket at home in Abu Dhabi. 😪
The Dubai Fountain Show started at 6pm with 30 minutes intervals. We were able to find a good spot to watch it at 6.30pm.
We were so tired, we just let ourselves be dragged by the multiple walkalators from the Dubai Mall back to the metro station. Another 20 minutes walk of 1.5kms!
When we reached our final metro station near my aunt's house and we realized we went down the opposite side of the road, we had no more powers to walk, so we hailed a taxi already.
It was close to 8pm when we reached home. Drained, exhausted, but with lots of memories and stories to tell. And then it was 6am in Hawaii, my work day began... 😪😴🤕
