Hello, Actifitters!

Two weeks ago, I shared about my trip to Makati when I brought my laptop to the HP Service Center. Last week, I got an update that they are not able to fix it due to parts not available in the Philippines. They suggested that I bring the unit back to the UAE to have it repaired there. So today, I finally collected it from HP Makati.

Public Commute and Jeepney Rides

I got to ride the jeepney again after many years. I already forgot when my last jeepney ride was. It's definitely not within the past 7 years.

Jeepney is a common mode of public commute.

It is a lot cheaper than taking a Grab car. Lol.

In the afternoon, around lunch, a 3-KM Grab ride would cost Php 222 (~$4) compared to a minimum fare of Php 13 ($0.22) in a jeepney. So, jeepney it is! 🤧

Looking Back 20 Years

After collecting my laptop from HP, I had to buy a gift for my cousin's daughter who will celebrate her birthday tomorrow.

My sister invited me to go to Eastwood, but since I am already in Makati, I decided to just go to Glorietta and SM Makati, and instead of getting a ride, for me to walk is better. Anyway, it's just about a kilometer of walk.

The weather was gloomy, so it was conducive to walking.

As I crossed Paseo de Roxas, I realized that the last time I walked this road was 20 years ago when I was job-hunting.

This building at the center of the photo has a resemblance to the ADIA Building in Abu Dhabi.

A few hundred meters more and I passed by the Ayala Triangle. I thought I had lots of time to spare, so I passed by to check it out.

It's such a breather to have a lush of green in the city.

Around the area, there were lots of poinsettia flowers. I remember my grandma, who loves these flowers, and who was very happy each time her plant started flowering because that marks the Christmas season.

Malling

Finally, I reached the malls. At first, I was not mindful of time. Until it was past 4.00pm, and I had to start hurrying back to the bus station, or else I would get stuck in traffic.

Spoiler! My sister who left Eastwood at 4.00pm reached the bus station ahead of me even if I was already closer. 😅

My daughter was assigned to give one of the seven dresses in tomorrow's program.

After choosing a dress, I went to the gift wrapping section which was also a time for me to at least rest my feet, which have been walking for so long already.

I hurried to the bus stop and headed to the bus station. Since it was Friday and lots of people go back home to the provinces, there was a big queue of passengers when I came. Thankfully, my sister was already there when I came and we were in front of the queue.😜
