Especially basketball, well not me but my boyfriend. Let me introduce to you John Carlo Bastismo. He has been a basketball player since elementary until now that he's already in college. He played cndda in elementary and high school. But during senior high he was not able to play because of lockdown due to covid. But that doesn't stop him.

He always plays basketball in their backyard and even in other barangay. After a long wait, years of waiting and also restrictions are not that strict he had the chance to play basketball in our City. A league of all the barangays here in Naga, in which each barangay will have a team, each team consisting of 15 players. So he was able to represent their barangay which is the barangay Langtad.

They have already started the league. And here I am supporting him in their play every time I'm free. He has always been the most valuable player every time they play and win. He is also the team captain of their team. He guides his teammates every time they play or even have a practice.

One of the highlights of his game is joining the Gullas Cup. During the first game held here in Naga well, they just defeated the defending Champion which is the San Fernando buffalo's. It was a big victory of Naga to defeat San Fernando. San Fernando has always been champion for constitutive years.

They did not expect that Naga would defeat them. It was an intense game they almost lost but through the hard work and determination of the team with the help of their coach they won the first game. They also defeated Carcar and Sibonga. That makes them fight for 3rd place. Due to some reasons and also pressure to the players they lost.

John Carlo shows that being small can nave a big contribution to the game. Imagine he's just 5’4 but when he plays he change to be 6 footer. Among all the players in Naga he is the smallest among them all. But his ability is big.With his hard work and determination he was awarded. During the awarding he was awarded to be one of mythical five and also scoring champ. Among all the players in Naga 2 of them had award. It was a big contribution to Naga their awards.

John Carlo also played in Cawayan Masbate, playing in Ako Bicol Cup. But sadly they only played during elimination round. They did not have the privilege to play during the championship but he showed them his ability on the play. Everytime they play he always become the (MVP) most valuable player of the game.

He got a big dream to be a varsity player but some things doesn't go as planned. He wasn't able to become a varsity player because of his height but, they did not see his abilities to play. On how he manage and control the ball. He often called as the flash. He run so fast like a cheetah.

Kidding aside but he runs so fast that is one of the advantages. Also being small you can just go through the big man. Sometimes you can see that he was chased bythe 5 players of the opponent team. They might have a shocking face if they see how he handled all the 5 opponent.

During the days he can even slam dunk regardless of his height. Also he can block the opponent. He was being bashed during Gullas Cup because he blocked one if the opponent that is also the most valuable player of the opponent's team. He blocked 2 times during different games.

He played different games in different places. He also played in Negros and southern part of Cebu such as, Malabuyoc, Barili, Argao and Alcantra. That is just the places I remembered but that was a lot more. He plays as if it's their last game. He always dedicate every game he plays he wants to win every time. How wants to lose anyway.

Recently he played during the intramurals in his school which is the Cebu Institute of the Technology University (CIT-U). During the tryout he was already on the list to play. The 3 days intramurals everyday they have a game. Their opponent is from different department. Due to the weather condition they still win the game. Up until the last game they win. So the CMBA team become the champion of 2025 intramurals in CIT-U.
