PSLS Lhokseumawe Junior Team

A city in Aceh province known as Lhokseumawe City, is a city that was once famous for its natural gas industry. But now, the production is not so much anymore. You could say it has gone down a lot.

This city also has a football team called PSLS Lhokseumawe, the team nicknamed the Malacca Tigers competes in the third tier of the Indonesian League (League 3). Certainly not a great achievement.

However, at this time the team in the city of Lhokseumawe is at its best in coaching youth football. Last week, PSLS U-16 players won a major tournament in Indonesia: Nusantara Open 2022.

This tournament, followed by a number of teams from the best academies in Indonesia. Starting from League 2 teams, as well as League 1 teams, such as PSS Sleman, Persib Bandung, Borneo FC, and PSIS Semarang.

PSLS Lhokseumawe, who came from a League 3 team, surprisingly made it into the final and won the runner-up title. PSLS lost 2-0 to Persib Bandung in the final. However, it remains as an extraordinary achievement for the children of Aceh.

Sebuah kota di provinsi Aceh yang dikenal dengan nama Kota Lhokseumawe, merupakan kota yang pernah terkenal dengan industri berupa gas alam. Tapi saat ini, produksinya sudah tidak begitu banyak lagi. Bisa dikatakan sudah sangat menurun.

Di kota ini juga memiliki tim sepakbola bernama PSLS Lhokseumawe, tim yang dijuluki Harimau Malaka ini berkompetisi di kasta ketiga Liga Indonesia (Liga 3). Tentu saja bukan sebuah prestasi yang bagus.

Namun, saat ini tim yang berada di kota Lhokseumawe itu sedang bagus-bagusnya dalam pembinaan sepakbola usia muda. Pekan lalu pemain U-16 PSLS menjuarai sebuah turnamen besar di Indonesia: Nusantara Open 2022.

Turnamen ini, diikuti oleh sejumlah tim dari akademi-akademi terbaik di Indonesia. Mulai dari tim Liga 2, juga tim Liga 1. Seperti PSS Sleman, Persib Bandung, Borneo FC, hingga PSIS Semarang.

PSLS Lhokseumawe yang berasal dari tim Liga 3 secara mengejutkan berhasil masuk final dan meraih predikat runner up. PSLS kalah 2-0 dari Persib Bandung di partai finalnya. Namun, itu tetaplah sebagai sebuah prestasi luar biasa bagi anak-anak Aceh.
