Hello Hivers!
Anke here aka Anna-NewKey.

Jump to the German version

Yesterday Mia and I went on an excursion through Eaton Socon and back via the Riverside and the Bedford Pocket Park, where a Parkrun was taking place.

We set off at 8am and I was curious how long it would take. It was 1.5 hours in the end which included chatting to various people along the way.

The first 20 minutes of the route runs on a green strip between houses and comes out by a roundabout at the main bridge into St Neots.

The houses here are for the over sixties, a lovely little road. I had a chat with the gentleman back there. I'm sure I'll meet him again next time. 😄

Near the roundabout is a pub "The Barley Mow" and as I went round the back to have a look a lady approached me to say they are dog-friendly. I think she might have been the landlady actually.
They do food, so I shall return at some point.

A little meadow just across from the pub and back on familiar ground through the Riverside Park passing St Neots Bridge.

1000059483.jpg

It's so lovely to have this sort of thing right in the heart of town.

1000059486.jpg

1000059488.jpg

We walked all the way to the River Mill Pub to complete the circle and passing the campsite and a Parkrun that was just taking place.
The marshal lady explained the route to me and talked me into taking part next time, she's "expecting to see me next Saturday". 😄

I am planning to oblige as it's so close to home now, and ordered my barcode tags ready for next week.

Definitely a walk full of talking, I thought it was a figure of speech but you stopped several times. Ah I hope to see a food review on the pet friendly place.

Btw I'm going to show this to @elchapito so he can see Mia. Has started using actifit just like you, just after having a conversation together with his owner to get her to be more active on Hive.

Now my new plan will be for you all to start creating posts for #Worldmappin community xD.

So are you going to walk the parkrun? I think they should encourage that more to get people out. The weather has been a bit mixed this weekend. It didn't spoil the band gig though.

Yeah, I'll have to start with a walk/jog.. it'll be new for Mia, so have to take it slowly.
But it'll be fun either way, meeting people.
It's been pretty miserable today, glad it went OK!
