I am falling behind with posting lately, way before my accident actually, but my handicap doesn't help...

Two Festivals

Today I am squeezing in two festivals that happened in July,
One is the yearly St Neots Festival and the other the fantastic Todd in The Hole where we had the pleasure of playing a set in the early afternoon on the Friday.

Steve and I were lucky enough to grab a spot at the wonderful festival that is Todd in The Hole!! 😍🤘
With its fantastic atmosphere it features lots of local and talents among the bigger names. Of the higher profile ones they had Rick Parfitt Junior there this year who did some of the old Status Quo classics, but sadly couldn't I be there to enjoy them because my shoulder sent me home early to rest.

What I really would have liked to have seen though was our friend Kev Maher on the Wood Stage, I believe he played after they showed the football there on the Saturday. He got upgraded from another stage because one of the acts had cancelled: he absolutely smashed it! There was a huge crowd who were really enjoying his stuff, great guy!

We played our set on the Friday in the afternoon when it only started to fill up; I would have liked later slot to be honest but in hindsight I think it was a good thing. It filled up and was extremely busy all weekend, heaving actually, and I don't think I would have enjoyed it with my arm still being fragile.
Next year will be better and you will find me dancing in the crowd.

Here are now some shots, the first lot are taken by Graham Hopkins and/or Jane Evans Photography who are pretty much always at these events and take photographs of everybody for free.

The whistle is all I can play at the moment; although this is fun, I can't wait to play guitar again!

St Neots Festival

This festival has been running for a few years and has being very successful so far, this year being no exception. The people of St Neots are pretty proud of their town and the number of visitors proved that again.
It is organised by a group called the Neotists who also run the Market Marvels at the Market Square which is an event where musicians perform every other week on market Saturday's. We had a lot in early June which was great and well received.

This event was actually my first outing with my broken arm, it's about 15 minute walk from my house, and I felt safe enough to walk around it for a bit avoiding crowded places of course.

We will try to get our name on that next year 😄

Zwei Festivals

Heute quetsche ich zwei Festivals rein, die im Juli stattfanden,
Eines ist das jährliche St Neots Festival und das andere das fantastische Todd in The Hole, bei dem wir das Vergnügen hatten, am frühen Freitagnachmittag ein Set zu spielen.

Steve und ich hatten das Glück, einen Platz bei dem wunderbaren Festival Todd in The Hole zu ergattern!! 😍🤘
Mit seiner fantastischen Atmosphäre bietet es neben den größeren Namen viele lokale Talente. Von den bekannteren war dieses Jahr Rick Parfitt Junior dabei, der einige der alten Status Quo-Klassiker spielte, aber leider konnte ich nicht dabei sein, um sie zu genießen, weil ich wegen meiner Schulter früh nach Hause musste, um mich auszuruhen.

Was ich allerdings wirklich gerne gesehen hätte, war unser Freund Kev Maher auf der Wood Stage. Ich glaube, er spielt nachdem sie dort am Samstag Fußball gezeigt hatten. Er wurde von einer anderen Bühne hochgestuft, weil einer der Acts abgesagt hatte: Er hat absolut gerockt! Es war eine riesige Menschenmenge da, die von seinen Songs mitgerissen wurden, ein toller Typ!

Hier sind ein paar Videos, falls es Euch interessiert.

Wir spielten unser Set am Freitagnachmittag, als es sich gerade erst zu füllen begann. Ehrlich gesagt hätte ich mir einen späteren Slot gewünscht, aber im Nachhinein denke ich, dass es so gut war. Es füllte sich und es war das ganze Wochenende über extrem voll, eigentlich brechend voll, und ich glaube nicht, dass ich es genossen hätte, da mein Arm zu der Zeit immer noch empfindlich war.

Nächstes Jahr wird es besser und Ihr werdet mich in der Menge tanzen sehen!

Hier sind nun einige Aufnahmen; die ersten wurden von Graham Hopkins und/oder Jane Evans Photography gemacht, die so gut wie immer bei diesen Veranstaltungen sind und von allen kostenlos Fotos machen.
Ich kennzeichne einzelne Bilder nicht mit einer Quelle, da ich dazu echt keine Lust habe um ehrlich zu sein. 😄

Die Irish Whistle ist alles, was ich im Moment spielen kann; obwohl das Spaß macht, kann ich es kaum erwarten, wieder Gitarre zu spielen!

St Neots Festival

Dieses Festival läuft seit einigen Jahren und ist sehr erfolgreich, dieses Jahr war keine Ausnahme. Die Menschen in St. Neots sind ziemlich stolz auf ihre Stadt und die Zahl der Besucher hat das wieder einmal bewiesen.
Es wird von einer Gruppe namens Neotists organisiert, die auch die Market Marvels auf dem Marktplatz veranstalten, eine Veranstaltung, bei der Musiker alle zwei Wochen an Marktsamstagen auftreten. Wir hatten Anfang Juni einen Auftritt, der großartig und kam gut an.

Das Festival war mein erster Ausflug mit meinem gebrochenen Arm, es ist etwa 15 Minuten zu Fuß von meinem Haus entfernt und ich fühlte mich sicher genug, um ein bisschen herumzulaufen wobei ich natürlich überfüllte Orte vermied.

Nächstes Jahr werden wir versuchen, unseren Namen darauf zu bekommen 😄
