New Strings: August 15 2023
(Edited)
We walked around town in the morning for a fair bit and I had a healthy fruit salad for breakfast afterwards.
The day in general was occupied by re-stringing two of my guitars; especially the one I use mainly at home sounded truly awful! The lower e-string had no bounce left whatsoever. I left it far too long but to be fair, strings are not cheap so I tend to hold off for a bit sometimes.
All shiny again and sounding great! New strings make such a difference. |
And while I was at it this one also got a new set and a polish. As this is my main one even more important. |
This is all so tiring... 😴
I love her little tongue hanging out.. 😄
That's it for today; Thanks for looking!

I don't change strings as often as I should. Actually the last set I put on the acoustic are a bit light for my taste and I may get others.
Mine 11 gauge; what are yours?
Not sure, but I prefer medium to light acoustic strings. I think they would be 13
Oh that's pretty heavy actually.
I changed from 10 to 11, I thought 12 would be too much. Pretty happy with them now.
It's a compromise on tone and playability. Lighter strings may work better on your small guitars.
You must be very tough going for 14 wow
Think Steve's got 11s too
Hope you're better has improved, sunnier today here
It's nice here. Rain was predicted, but staying sunny.
It's a dogs life eh!
🤣 sure is! My little princess leads a tough life.. lol
What’s the second guitar, with the light strip down the face? That is gorgeous! Is it also a Taylor? You’ve got some really NICE looking guitars! And Mia is of course looking lovely as always :)
They're both Taylor GS Minis, easier for a little person to play.. 😄
One is spruce (I think) and the other Koa and my main guitar. It's a bit of a trade mark now. 😉
Glad you like it! 🥰
Dude yes, I LOVE it!!! Are they bigger than a 3/4 guitar?
Not sure, but it's bigger than the Baby Taylor which I also have.
This might give you an idea perhaps? It's got a rounded back to increase the body volume which is pretty clever I think.
Here it's sitting side by side with a full size Martin
Dang, that looks perfect! I’m only 5’7” (1.7m) tall, so the full sized dreadnoughts are usually pretty tough for me to wrangle 🤣 …I’m going to have to look into these, they look wonderful! Thank you!!!
