Religious Tourism, My Actifit Report Card: January 15 2024

Yey I'm back with my daily activity report featuring Actifit.

As I said yesterday that I and my extended family will do religious tourism visiting several Islamic tourist sites in the Magelang-Klaten-Surakarta area. The morning after morning prayers I rushed to the meeting point at the NU Kec. Bandungan building, where the bus that would take us to pick us up here. The participants of this trip were Suyitno's extended family, who were his grandfathers as well as his employees. There are a total of 2 buses and 1 minibus.

The first destination is a pilgrimage to the tomb of an Islamic figure on Mount Pring. This is also my first time there. And almost the same as other pilgrimage places of the Guardians, the location of the tomb is on a hill, right, we have to walk along the stairs as far as 1 Km to get to the meal. Although the distance is not too far, but because the uphill track is enough to make us drink to the top. Along the way, there are many souvenir vendors selling. In addition, peekaboo sellers and cold drinks are also lined up a lot, so when resting, we can snack.

Arriving at the top, some religious rituals such as dhikr, reading the Quran and praying we do with wisdom. And when we finished praying together we went back down the stairs one by one.

Next we headed to Bayat sub-district, Klaten Regency to visit the tomb of an Islamic figure on the island of Java, Pandan Aran. Not much different from the first location, the location of the tomb is on the hills, and the track that must be passed is also the same, namely along the stairs one by one. The difference is, the road here is steeper and uphill, it will really squeeze our knees when walking. Even so, for those who do not want to walk here there is also an ojek service at a rate of 10,000 rupiah one way. I myself prefer to walk while telling stories with children.

In this area, although the tombs we visited were children of Islamic figures, but Hindu-Javanese nuances were quite thick. Starting from the gate, entrance, exit and some typical buildings of ancient Java are widely seen. This is quite interesting, it feels almost like visiting a burial site in the sunan kudus area.

After that, we visited a mosque that has recently been quite viral, namely the Syeikh Zayed grand mosque or better known as the Jokowi mosque in Solo. The mosque was a gift from an Arab government to Indonesian President Joko Widodo, with the Sheikh Zayed mosque building made similar to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

After dinner together, we went home and arrived at the initial meeting point at 10.15 PM. It felt very tired and immediately wanted to rest.
