Festival of Lights - Spectacular Show on The City Streets

The Festival of Lights 2024 in Zagreb (Croatia) opened this Wednesday (March 20th), but we didn't have time to visit it before yesterday.

Of 29 installations around the city, we managed to visit only nine, and it took us almost three hours of walking around, watching those light shows, and, of course, taking photos. 😉

We started our journey on Croatian Nobles Square with light installations named "Guardians of the Future," which should remind us of the importance each one of us plays in preserving nature for the well-being of future generations.

Then we walked to Old Vlaska (Vlaška) Street, where light panels were giving and, if standing at the right spot, displaying and coloring otherwise common and well-known scenes of the street and its surroundings.

After that, we went to European Square, where the installation named "Point of View" was standing in the central part of the square.

The trick was, if observing it from one point of the square, it looked like a mess.

But observing it from the other point, you could see the word "DARK."

And then, surprise, surprise, an entirely different point would show you the word "LIGHT."

From there, passing by some very colorful booth, we ended up on the main square full with people mingling around.

The light installation on the building on the main square was presenting some galactic flowers, and it was named "Nightography powered by Galaxy AI."

Then we walked to the main stairs of the Dolac Market, which were presented as some high-tech carpet called "ZG (Zagreb's) Moonwalk."

Upstairs, on Dolac Market itself, one of the buildings served as a canvas, or better to say, screen for 3D mapping visualization technology performance.

Not far from there, at the Opatovina Park, the light installation named "Lipizzaners," representing our famous gracious white horses, especially delighted the children.
