The red devil club really impressed me also with their 5-1 scoreline win against Leeds United. Great performance from all of the boys from the goalkeeping to the defence to the midfield and to the attack. Fluid play an interesting touch with the ball it's not quite an entertaining match. The match that came close to this was the Chelsea Crystal Palace as that was also an exciting match to watch.

Yeah I sure did. Exciting performance from most of the top teams. Not much upsets. Was impressed with Chelsea, Manchester city and Liverpool performance has they comfortably clinched three points against their opponents. The only disappointment in the weekend for me was Manchester City Lost to Tottenham Hotspur I for one don't see that coming as I expected the citizens club to bounce back from there community shield defeat to Leicester City. Apart from that it was an awesome weekend of great football in the English Premier League and across Europe.

I can't wait to see the chelsea team winning the match. I think arsenal need to hunt for some new players this new season.

I also shared the same belief as you I believe Chelsea appears to be no more formidable side as the play a better football compared to the Emirates club Arsenal. Indeed Arsenal need to make few quality signings if they intend to really challenge this season

It sure will be a cagey affair between this two but as a football analyst and lover who do you see coming out victorious between this two in this contest and what are your prediction for the game? I will love to know

This will sure be an entertaining match between this London clubs. I also expect lots of action from both side and from Arsenal who lost their first game to try to pick up a point against the blues. I believe they will be having a difficult time doing so going by the form of the Stamford bridge Club. I believe Chelsea will be seeing this one out and extending their point in the league table.

Lots of football matches to watch over this week end. I know most people here prefer the English Premier League, but for me I prefer Ligue 1 and Liga. Plenty of matches to watch for any preferences anyways

Also moving towards other league apart from the EPL games. Been a supporter of real Madrid, I have always loved watching la Liga games. With Lionel Messi having moved to France, I would also be paying more attention to the new Paris Saint Germain and other clubs over there. The Italian serie A also happens to one league one in which I follow has it has been really competitive. Great to have lot football options to chose from

Good point, I also enjoy serie A, I forgot about it. Sometimes less goals, but very technical, it's entertaining to me. It became difficult for me to watch on TV tough, only option is streaming, which can be a pain sometimes.

Indeed very technical. There appear to score more goals this time compared to few years ago. Really entertaining seeing those top teams play.

I'm so happy last weekend.. the Barcelona's team won without lionel messi after the GOAT footaller betrayed them to go on a free transfer to PSG .

Great win from Barcelona, they really did okay in the game against real soceidad. I hope they continue which such performance through out the season. Do seem to understand what you by Lionel Messi betraying the club. the Argentine international has done a lot for the club in his over two decades with club. Without him Barcelona may not be as recognized in Europe has it is today. Barcelona wasn't willing to offer him a good deal and he decided to a club who can pay his wages. There is no crime in that.

Well I don't really blame Messi. Sometimes things just don't work out but I am glad to see the team doing well even without him.

I guess most of us are not old enough to have seen him play in the 70's, but you've probably heard the name Gerd Müller. He unfortunately died yesterday, he was 75. He was of course a Bayern München legend and a West Germany icon as well. I remember many years ago seeing documentaries about him, and his atypical size (only 1m75) and abilities. Until Lewandowski broke it last year, Müller was holding the record of goals scored in one Bundesliga season with 40 (Lewandowski got 41). Franz Beckenbauer, another legend, said of Müller he was the most important Bayern player of all time.

I don't know much about him. Its sad to know that he did pass anyway though.

Didnt watch the German legend but heard a little about his tale in his days. He was a really great football player and goal scorer going by the amount of goals he scored and the records he held. Sad one hearing about his demise in the news. Must feel very sad for the people of Germany with news of his death. He was a great football legend and will continually remain so. Rip Herd Muller

Only 2 matches played in Ligue 1 so far, but some surprises at the top of the rankings. Of course, PSG is not a surprise, but Angers and Clermont (just promoted in Ligue 1 this season) also have two wins in two matches. And with the goal difference, they're actually above PSG :) Let's see if they can keep it this way for long.

Great start from the newly promoted sides Clermont and Angers. Nice way of kickstarting their league. Just a little curious to see how they will continue has the season progresses. Doubt they will pull off a surprise and win the league. But starting in such a way is a great one and could be motivating for them and help finish in good positions. Hope to see how long they keep it up such performances.

Their main objective is usually to stay in Ligue 1, so the more points they can rack up at the beginning of the season when bigger teams may not be fully ready yet, the easier it gets to reach that objective. Then they can play more relaxed and that's when good surprises can happen.

Yeah with the way they started, they won't be falling off anytime soon. Great way to go in capitalizing in the lack of form of other teams. The importance of stating good at times, so when the bad times comes they won't suffer greatly has their position would not be way threatened considering points amassed in the beginning.
