My Actifit Report Card: July 18 2022
Busy day today. It started with a walk. Then I started my client work--writing articles.
During a break, I walked outside and witnessed one of the neighborhood dogs grabbing my rooster by the neck. I chased it off with a big stick because I didn't have a gun.
After chasing the dog, I went in search of the rooster. It had wandered off in the opposite direction, toward my nephew's house. When I got close to it, it hunkered down in some tall grass to hide from me, but I found it and brought it back home.
After lunch, my wife and I went to town to do laundry and some grocery shopping. While there, we got some water. This is my wife filling up the water jugs:
When we got home we had dinner with my parents. Dad gave me single-shot .22 in case I saw the dog again.
We live in the country. There are several dogs that like to wander onto our property and I've adopted a shoot-to-kill policy. If I see them, they're dead.
After dinner, we played dominoes then I took a practice shot with my rifle. Then I did the dishes I finished the day with more than 8,000 points.
Tomorrow is another day. I hope I don't see the dogs. I really don't want to shoot them.

Too bad for the dog owners who let their pets run wild. How sad.
I agree. People move into the country and think they can just let their animals run wild. I don't want to shoot the dogs, but I don't want them eating my chickens either.

People letting dogs loose to damage property or hurt other people are a pet peeve of mine.
Our neighbour kept letting his dogs run and they came over here where we have chickens, goats and had pigs. I would scare the dogs off and shoot at the ground so the neighbors got the hint and that never was effective.
Then the German Shepherd went after my boy. Luckily, there were plenty of people around him and he wasn't hurt. I went over there and told them it will be shot on sight if on my property. I haven't seen him here since, thankfully.
We did the same thing - warned the neighbors. We've got dogs running around that nobody claims. My nephew put one down one day. He spent hundreds of dollars on dogs that he breeds and the last thing he wants is some mutt ruining his bitch. He pulls in $300 to $400 for pups as soon as they're old enough to part from mother. Got to protect his investment.
