Refreshing vacation recap in photos.
I've been taking a lot of pictures during my vacation and have put together a rather interesting collection of photos.

I have lived in many places in my life: where I was born, where I grew up, where I lived on my own to attend college, and where I moved to when I started working.
Since this was my first time to stay in the Kyushu area for such a long time, I was able to see some landscapes I had never seen before.
I will try to summarize those photos here.

This is a monorail running in the Kokura area of Kitakyushu City.
There used to be a monorail in Nagoya City, where I live, but it has been discontinued.
It was simply rare to see a monorail in operation like this.

I could not take a picture of a monorail train passing right here due to a mismatch in timing, right? It is a great pity.
I wish I had waited for a while to take a picture of it.

The urban expressway runs over the city of Nagoya, and this scenery looks a bit like it.
But this is an elevated monorail line.
There is this nice space at the monorail station where you can watch the monorail operations while drinking drip coffee bought from a vending machine right next to the station.

It was a clear day with blue skies and sunshine, and the scenery of the lively city was very beautiful.
The green of the street trees was also very beautiful, and it was a lovely urban scene.

This is a view of the monorail leading to Kokura Station, the terminal station.
This is the famous scene of the monorail plunging near the ceiling of the station like this.
I was not able to take a picture of the monorail car actually coming into the station.

But in reality, I had to eat, take a bath, pack my luggage well for the next day, and wash what I could for the next day. I want to wash what I can for the next day, and I'm really busy, busy, busy (LOL).
It was like I was itching to sit still for a while.

There are several ferry services in the Kitakyushu area, and a shuttle bus seemed to run from the ferry terminal (disembarkation point) to Kokura Station.
It seems that there are ferry routes from Yokosuka to Kitakyushu, Izumiotsu in Osaka and Rokko Island in Kobe to Kitakyushu to enjoy the boat trip.

I had considered this a little as a plan not to use the Shinkansen.
Since it was a refreshment vacation, I planned to take a "ferry boat trip," which I usually do not use at all, but considering all the circumstances and my luggage, the Shinkansen was still the most convenient this time.
I really hope to plan a boat trip someday.

Kitakyushu City is famous as the "City of Manga" and has a manga museum.
Being the hometown of famous manga artists, the city promotes the excellence of manga and anime.

Inside Kokura Station, there are life-size figurines of anime characters and an illustration board.
Today, manga and anime are no longer unique as Japanese content, but it seems that this kind of exhibit has been around for a long time and is a pioneer in the field.

You may not notice it at first glance, but the fact that this sign is "made of stainless steel" is actually unusual and not seen very often.
Usually these signs are made of wood.
Or they are often made of concrete to mimic wood.

Hiraodai has a tradition of "Noyaki" (burning in the field) during the winter when the grass is dead, for the purpose of exterminating insects to preserve the landscape.
In order to prevent the sign from being burnt by the burning and to remove black soot quickly, stainless steel signs have been installed.

The Hiraodai trek is in preparation for a detailed hiking route article to be posted.
I will post it when the photos are organized.

■diary with a few words
I took a break from writing and posting blog posts for about a month due to a very busy work situation.
It was summer, and with a very large number of rainy days and another incredibly hot summer, I was in a very physically demanding situation.
I was afraid that if I forced myself to cram my schedule down, I would suffer from burnout.
In times like this, I need to reduce my routine in some way.
I will gradually resume posting blogs again.

写真で振り返るリフレッシュ休暇。
休暇中に色々と写真を撮影していて、ちょっと面白い写真をまとめてみました。

私はこれまで生まれたところ、育ったところ、大学に通うために一人暮らしをしたところ、就職して引っ越したところなどなど、色々なところで暮らしてきました。
今回九州エリアに初めてこれだけ長く滞在したので、私が見たことのない風景をいくつか見ることができました。
その写真をここにまとめてみようと思います。

これは北九州市の小倉エリアを走っているモノレールです。
私の住んでいる名古屋市にも昔はモノレールがあったのですが、今は廃線になっています。
こんなふうにモノレールが運行している様子を見ることはないので、シンプルに珍しかったです。

うまくタイミングが合わず、ここをまさにモノレール列車が通過している写真を撮ることができませんでした。すごく残念です。
しばらく待ちぼうけしてでも撮影しておけば良かったなぁと思ってしまいます。

名古屋市の市内上空には都市高速道路が走っていて、この風景は少しそれに似ています。
でも、これはモノレールの高架です。
モノレールの駅にこんな素敵なスペースがあり、すぐそばにある自動販売機で買ったドリップコーヒーを飲みながらモノレールの運行状況を眺めることができます。

この日は晴れて青空も見えて、太陽の光が降り注いで、活気のある街の風景がとても美しかったです。
街路樹の緑もとても綺麗で、素敵な都会の風景でした。

ターミナル駅である小倉駅に続くモノレールの様子です。
こんなふうに駅の天井近くにモノレールが突っ込んでくるのが有名な風景です。
こちらも「実際に駅構内にモノレールの車体が入ってくる様子」を撮影できませんでした。

モノレールは10分か15分に1本でしたから「少し待てば撮影できたなぁ」と今は思うのですが、実際には本当に時間がなくて、食事もしないといけないし、お風呂も入らないといけないし、翌日以降のために荷物をうまくパッキングしないといけないし、翌日以降のために洗濯できるものは洗濯しておきたいし、本当に忙しくて忙しくて(lol)
少しの間じっとしておくとうずうずしてしまう感じでした。

北九州エリアにはいくつかフェリーが就航していて、フェリー乗り場（降り場）から小倉駅までシャトルバスが運行しているようでした。
横須賀から北九州、大阪の泉大津と神戸の六甲アイランドから北九州のフェリー路線があって船の旅が楽しめるようです。

これについては私は新幹線を利用しないプランとして少し検討していました。
リフレッシュ休暇なんだから、普段は全く使用しない「フェリーの船旅」というのも計画したのですが、あらゆる状況と荷物を考慮すると、今回はやはり新幹線が最も便利でした。
いつか船旅も計画したいと心から思います。

北九州市は「漫画の街」として有名で、漫画の美術館もあります。
著名な漫画家の出身地であることから、漫画とアニメの素晴らしさを普及しています。

小倉駅の中には、アニメのキャラクターの実物大フィギアや、イラストボードがあります。
現在は日本のコンテンツとして漫画やアニメは特殊なものではなくなりましたが、このような展示をずっと前からされていたようで、先駆けだと思います。

ちょっと見ただけでは気づかないかもしれませんが、この標識が「ステンレス製である」というのが実は珍しいことで、あまり見かけないものなんです。
普通はこのような看板は木製です。
または木を模倣してコンクリートで作られることが多いです。

平尾台は景観の保持のため虫を駆除する目的で、冬に草が枯れた状態の時期に「野焼き（Noyaki）」を行う伝統があります。
この野焼きで看板が焼けてしまわないように、また黒い煤がついてもすぐに取れるように、ステンレス製の標識を設置しているのです。

平尾台トレッキングは詳細な登山ルート記事を記事にしたくて準備中です。
写真の整理ができたら投稿しようと思います。

■ひとこと日記
約1ヶ月間、仕事が大変忙しい状況が続き、ブログ記事作成・投稿をお休みしました。
夏になって、雨天の日が非常に多くなったり、また信じられないくらい暑い日が増えて、体力的にもかなり厳しい状態でした。
無理にスケジュールを詰め込んだら燃え尽き症候群になってしまいそうでした。
こういう時は何かしら自分のルーティンを減らすことが必要ですね。
また少しずつブログの投稿を再開します。
