Some anniversaries just hit different. I was not exactly old enough to be aware of this legendary play the Titans accomplished twenty-five years ago on this very day, January 8th. But still, I absolutely appreciate the greatness of this play. I mean, the title of the play says it all. Truly a miracle, in the playoffs at the start of a new MILLENIUM. Sort of anyway. I guess that is debatable. Nevertheless, the year 2000 has a satisfying look and feel to it. Feels fresh. It was also the first season that the franchise existed as the 'Titans'. What a time! What a way to begin a new era!

The Titans went on to nearly win the Super Bowl that same season. While that season didn't end in the Titans favor, it was still very memorable. AFC Champions at least!

These days the Titans are struggling big time but these memories live on forever. I sure hope the Titans get their hands on the Lombardi before this play reaches it's 50th anniversary. We shall see. No matter what happens, I pray I'll be alive still to write another blog about this play when it reaches that half century mark.

The Titans are getting disrespected a lot lately in the media. I can't exactly defend every move they have made in recent years, but I am optimistic. I think things will turn around soon enough. Maybe not next year but I have faith. Maybe current players will see this play and get inspired to push the Titans to new heights. There are a few bright spots on the team currently. I will stay patient and have faith that the Lomardi will reflect two-tone blue one day!
