Recap of the 2021-22 NFL Divisional Playoff Round

Well, this weekend's NFL playoff games were the exact opposite of last weekend's stinkers.

Every single game was absolutely insanely close. This weekend may go down in history as one of the greatest weekends of NFL Playoff Football ever.

Three consecutive game winning field goals, finished off by one of the greatest games ever that went to overtime!!! Insane.

It almost makes the Titans loss slightly less painful. Sure they lost in heart breaking fashion, but at least they lost an extremely close game in the Playoffs. Better than teams sitting on the couch watching.

Speaking of the Titans vs Bengals game, I am not even going to bother writing about that game... I already went through that pain LOL. Just look at my dang blog. Bengals won BLAH.

49ers defeat the Packers 13-10

This was a physical, run heavy game, that the Packers had several chances to win, but they just couldn't. Offensively they could not move the ball enough. Their defense showed up (much like the Titans) but the offense and their star QB Aaron Rodgers could only muster up 10 points. That would cost them in the end.

On the other hand, the 49ers offense was WAY worse than the Packers. Offensively they only scraped together six lousy points.

The difference in this game was truly, of all things, SPECIAL TEAMS. Ah yes, that third phase of football that is often forgotten about helped pretty much single handedly win this game for the 49ers. A CLUTCH blocked field goal and a SUPER CLUTCH blocked punt deep in Packers territory that indeed scored the Niners only touchdown. Later in the game, the Niners drove down the field and scored the second game winning field goal of this insane weekend.

It was pretty epic to see it snow in Green Bay in the second half of this game. As the game got intense, a thin layer of snow started forming on the field and the whole environment was just beautifully classic. I do feel bad for my Papou though, as he is a Packers fan.

Special. Teams. WOW.

Rams defeat the Bucs 30-27

This game was almost a blowout after the Rams took a big 27-3 lead in this game.

Buuuut then Tom Brady happened!! After that early lead by the Rams, Brady and this Bucs team kept firing and hacking away little by little, until they TIED IT UP.

It seemed that all the momentum was on Tampa Bay's side and the Rams were about to be the latest team to be on Brady's greatest highlights. Tom has come back from 28-3 in a much bigger game, just about five years ago... I could smell the memes waiting to be posted if the Rams blew this.

BUT they would not blow this. On the Rams final possession to try and prevent overtime Matthew Stafford dropped back and made the biggest throw of his career and found who other than possibly the best receiver in the NFL, good old Cooper Kupp. Just a beautiful rainbow deep pass right down the center of the field that put them easily within field goal range.

CRAZY!

This game was full of offense and a treat to watch. Maybe this was Brady's last game? If so, this was not a bad performance by any means to be his final game. I think he wants to retire with a ring, but time catches up to all of us....

Chiefs defeat Bills in OT, 42-36

This game will not ever be forgotten anytime soon. Maybe if the internet like permanently crashes or the apocalypse occurs. Maybe not even then LOL.

Describing this game detail for detail would absolutely take me typing for the next several hours. Maybe, I don't know. But it would take a reallllly long time.

This game truly lived up to it's potential greatness. The Bills and Chiefs have some of the most exciting rosters and young quarterbacks in the league and both sides absolutely came to PLAY! These two teams were simply incredibly evenly matched.

QB Josh Allen of the Bills played his heart out man. Rushing like a full back, and just throwing some bombs. He was insanely clutch like five or six times. He wanted this win badly and played some of his best football on the biggest stage. His team may have lost but I do have respect for the guy and the Bills as a whole. Allen is a very impressive, special talent. Very much on Mahomes level. Eye to eye with him.

Chiefs QB Pat Mahomes absolutely showed up too of course! He was scrambling around, doing his thing. Being Mahomes as usual. This dude has really flipped the NFL on it's head since he entered the league. He has set a new standard of QB play in my opinion. Strong arm and very mobile. Smart. He displayed it all today. I believe he has pushed Josh Allen to new heights too.

I believe the difference in this game, was the fact that Mahomes and the Chiefs had slightly better offensive weapons than the Bills. JUST SLIGHTLY. I mean, Chiefs wide receiver Tyreke Hill is an absolute soul eater. A freaking Dementor from Harry Potter.

This game was just an adrenaline rush. Back and forth.

The Bills could have won this one like, several times. So many coulda, shoulda, woulda moments but the Chiefs never made it easy, obviously.

In the end, it was simply the Chiefs' night. Much like it has been the past several seasons...

Honestly, just watch these highlights yourself. Nothing I write will be able to properly explain this game, it was just pure playoff madness.

I guess at least I was not the only fan that got their heartbroken this week. Titans, Packers, Bucs, and Bills fans all got their hearts curb stomped in their own special way. Just brutal.

Ugh. I'm still sick about my Titans.

The final four teams remaining...
