After a tough loss Thursday the Phillies bounced back in a big way last night and just steamrolled over the Mets. The Mets actually struck first by scoring two runs in the first but that was where their offense ended. The Phillies completely took over from there. The Mets could only watch from the dugout as the Phillies just batted around steadily all night long. The Phillies out hit the Mets 17-4. 😭🤣

Cristopher Sanchez had an acceptable pitching performance. He went five innings, allowing the Mets only runs of the game. The bullpen took over and completely shut the Mets down and didn't give them a chance whatsoever.

Every single Phillie batter hit AND scored last night. Everybody did their part but the player of the game had to be Alec Bohm. Bohm had his best day since returning from injury. He went 4 for 5 with a homer and had FOUR R.B.I.s. He couldn't miss last night.

The Phillies really made a bit of a statement in New York last night. The Mets may be hot but, the Phillies have been doing this all year.

The past three years actually as yesterday's stomping of the Mets CLINCHED a playoff berth for the third straight season! They can clinch the division with a win tonight!

The Phillies chose not to celebrate because they have been here before. If they win and clinch the DIVISION, then they will celebrate in the traditional excited way.

BIG game tonight no doubt! Ranger on the hill and I guess he has been ok on paper but he feels a bit shaky to me lately. Today will be a massive test in every sense of the word.

The Mets have a two game advantage over the Braves in the NL Wildcard race with a big head to head series coming up between those two squads. The Mets want every win they can get.

The Phillies are still tied with the Dodgers for the top seed in the NL and best record in baseball. It seems that the Dodgers hold the tiebreak advantage over the Phillies though which is unfortunate.
