Phillies lose to Braves 3-2, Visit Kansas City tonight + A.D. Hammer RTTS Part 23

Phils only managed three hits yesterday, it's a miracle they got even two runs. They also walked three times so that contributed to some base runners of course. They lose the somewhat key series to the Braves, but do have a six game lead over them.

It's hard to say if the Phillies are in a true slump still, they just feel like a .500 team, just floating along thanks to their strong first half of the season. The team definitely doesn't feel dangerous though, which is a bit disappointing. As long as they get in the postseason, that's all that matters. A whole new season at that point.

The competition continues to be stiff as the Phillies will be in the center of the continental U.S. to face the Kansas City Royals in an interleague matchup. The Royals are a very solid ball club, with very strong odds to make the playoffs. If the season ended today they would be in the tournament.

The Phillies will be facing an excellent pitcher in Michael Wacha. Wacha is 10-6 on the season and is 5-0 in recent starts. Taijaun Walker is on the mound for the Phillies. Walker has struggled recently but the Phillies need to score more than two runs which has been their average recently.

Despite the Phils playing a bit lukewarm, this should be a fun matchup against an American League team!

GO PHILS!
