Darrell Jackson Vintage Upper Deck 2001 NFL Card - Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver

If you are someone that is aware of the history of Florida athletics, then odds are Darrell Jackson is a name you've heard of. Jackson went to high school in Tampa Bay and he was just a beast athletically. Not only on the gridiron, but he also led his high school to a state championship in basketball.

Jackson wouldn't be completely done making his mark on Florida Athletics, though. After high school he joined the University of Florida and became a Gator to play football. It was much of the same for Jackson as a college athlete, he simply shined. As a junior in 1999 Jackson earned First Team All-SEC honors as well becoming an All-American.

As a result of his stellar athletic achievements in the state of Florida, Jackson is considered to be All-Century Florida Athlete.

Jackson chose to enter the 2000 NFL Draft and after making a name for himself on the east coast of the USA, his football journey would end up taking him out west. The Seattle Seahawks chose him in the third round, number eighty overall.

At the highest level of American Football, Darrell Jackson proved he is an elite athlete, and not just an amateur star.

Darrell played in Seattle for just seven seasons, and in those seasons he placed himself in the top five of every major receiving category in Seahawks Franchise History: receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. In my opinion it is surprising he never became a Pro Bowler. He really put up a lot of great numbers. He also appeared in Super Bowl XL where he had a respectable game, but the Seahawks would not be victorious that night.

Still though, at every level Darrell Jackson produced. He was by no means, in any way shape or form a bust.

Jackson would play in the NFL from 2000-2008. Seven years in Seattle, followed by a year with the 49ers and his final stop being in 2008 in the Mile High City, with the Broncos.

Darrell Jackson's Career Stats:

  • 3x 1,000 Receiving Yards in a Season
  • 499 Receptions - Bruh JUST ONE MORE CATCH....tragic.
  • 7,132 Receiving Yards
  • 51 Receiving Touchdowns
  • 123 Games Played

Not a rookie card, but Jackson had a whole career ahead of him at this point in time.

Not a bad career at all. Pretty underrated if I do say so myself.
What do you think of Darrell's career in the NFL?
