76ers lose to the Knicks Tuesday | Bucks in town tonight
I can't even sugarcoat the state of this season anymore. The Sixers are a glorified G League team these days. It would be one thing if the Sixers actually 100 percent stunk, but the team is clearly just trying to get the best draft pick possible at this point and it is just super bleak. I guess the team does stink in many ways. But it's not really that simple I feel. It's just exhausting. I guess it would just be nice to see the team actually fight.
There's a lot of fans or media people saying that tanking like this is the right move but also, is it? There's zero winning culture on this team. They say one player can change a team in basketball, but I just don't think that's the case. That's rather silly I feel. The Celtics literally have one of the deepest rosters in basketball. The Sixers like to imagine they have solid role players but that's just a massive assumption.
I hate to get grim but, imagine being like a really old Sixers fan for example. This is the product? This is the team? Even if you're not elderly, time is unforgiving and this is just a pitifully wasted year. Quite pathetic. The Sixers relying on tanking like it's some high IQ move is silly. They seem to want fans to be patient and trust the process yet again. Why should fans just trust the Sixers about anything?
Sorry but I had to get some of this off my chest. I tend to beat around the bush when it comes to the Sixers but man this is just no fun at all. It's a mockery.
I guess after enjoying the Phillies recently and having such great vibes and authentic optimism for them, the contrast of returning to this sorry Sixers squad seriously stinks.
I'll try to be a bit more articulate and less miserable next game post. Maybe. Only a handful of games to go though. Then there won't be basketball till Halloween time. So I will attempt to enjoy it.
Lonnie Walker IV and Quentin Grimes should provide some sense of pride for me as a fan. I'm starting to enjoy Adem Bona's game more and more. I'm also a big fan of Giannis Antetokounmpo so I will enjoy watching him perform.
