76ers lose to Portland yesterday, in Minnesota to face the Timberwolves tonight
I'd write about the Sixers if they were 0-82, but yeah this season has been far from graceful. I really feel like the win on March 1st was just their monthly win and now it's going to be a miserable March just like February was.
I know I do a lot of complaining with these posts but the Sixers not only stink but, they haven't even come close to meeting expectations. Yesterday Tyrese Maxey joined the injury list with a back and finger issue. The commentators seemed a bit confused about what hurt Maxey when I found it fairly easy to spot. In the re-play, Maxey clearly clashed hip bones with a big man as he was driving into the paint. Maxey was twisted in the air and fell on to his back to top it off. All in all, it was just a pretty intense hit. Maxey is out tonight as he's also dealing with a finger injury. So yeah, the hits just keep coming for this Sixers team. I like Maxey, sit the guy and move to next year. Would be crazy to see a devastating injury this late in a pretty meaningless season.
But yeah, most Sixers fans seem to want the Sixers to lose at this point. Makes sense considering how late in the season it is and how everyone is injured it feels like. The Sixers are steadily fading from the play-in 10th spot.
Tonight, the Sixers head to Minnesota to see the T-Wolves. The Wolves have fallen off my radar a bit in 2024-25 but, Anthony Edwards is always a treat to watch and the Wolves are still probably going to make the playoffs fairly easily. Will be intriguing to get a better look at them up close.
Weird season stays weird. Only 22 games left, going to enjoy it while I can. Baseball season right around the corner.
