76ers lose in Atlanta last night | In New Orleans tonight to face the Pelicans
It might be March Madness in college basketball, but it's been mostly March Misery for the Sixers. This comes after February Fails of course LOL. But yeah the Sixers lost again last night and frankly it was uneventful and mostly uncompetitive. The Sixers have had worse blowouts, but this was not really close and I think the 132-119 loss felt more like a twenty point loss. I really hope next season is a bit more fun, but these things happen as a sports fan. If the Sixers managed to draft Cooper Flagg that would be utterly glorious. That dude looks special.
Quentin Grimes managed yet another 25+ point game last night as he dropped in 26 in Georgia. It's clear he's keeping his eyes on the prize! Justin Edwards scored 22 more himself. If Grimes and Edwards stay on the roster, these minutes may really benefit them and the team next season if the Sixers somehow are healthy by Halloween. Ugh, infinite what if's for the Sixers.
The Sixers stay in the south for game 72 of their 2024-25 season. In the reverse upside down standings, a loss to the Pelicans tonight would be fairly clutch to stay in the mix for the best pick possible. At the time of writing this the Sixers have a 9.8 percent chance of getting the top pick in the draft, which is not bad actually. Their chance at a top four pick is practically forty percent. So I estimate their chances at the very important top six selection is roughly 50-60 percent. The Sixers are tied for the fifth worst record in the league and the Pelicans are four and a half games worse and have the fourth worst record. A loss to the Pelicans with eleven games left, might age well in this final stretch of the season. Interesting times indeed, a lot of factors and moving pieces to consider.
Let's see how this game is played by both sides!
