76ers face Magic again tonight after falling to them 106-102 Wednesday night
The Sixers lost a fairly competitive game on Wednesday to the Magic and they're set to go to battle with them once again tonight. I am intrigued to see how this second part goes down. The Sixers were without Paul George but tonight he is expected to be back. This feels pointless to even type and should go without saying, but Embiid was out Wednesday and YUP he's out again tonight. Meh.
The Sixers weird season simply continues. Superstars are barely playing. Maxey has been playing but even he's been perhaps a shade below his standard of play. No major complaints but he could be a bit sharper. BUT the Sixers have a potential star in the making in rookie Jared McCain which is actually pretty significant. Also, despite the loss on Wednesday, they didn't look too bad and they have still won two of their last three. Odd good/bad contradictions on this team.
The Sixers are just in one game at a time grind mode. I am not sure how to really interpret this odd season at this point because I didn't really anticipate such a rough start whatsoever. Some fans wonder if the Sixers are doing a low-key tank at this point, and try to really hit the league by storm next year. That would be a wild, extremely bold move out of left field. As the season goes on though, I'm really starting to wonder...
But I am just worried about tonight as a fan, and I'm hoping for victory. Hopefully Paul George's presence can slow down the Magic's Franz Wagner a bit since he dropped a 35 piece on the squad Wednesday. That will definitely be an intriguing matchup. The German 23 year old Wagner has been having an impressive career year in his fourth season. Let's see how the 34 year old George matches up with the youngster. While it's pesky for the Sixers, it is pretty cool to see that the Magic have brothers on the same team in Franz and Moritz Wagner. Pretty rare stuff indeed.
