My Actifit Report Card: September 12 2023

My nephew and I walked the dog this morning and it was raining. It felt refreshing but a bit chilly. You can feel the season changing over from Summer to Fall.

Look at this beautiful deer family for me to see today.

The deer are so adorable aren’t they. The deer appear to be a mother and 2 young deer.

My nephew and Mister his dog are above.

This is a field of cattails above in the foggy rain.

The hills in the distance have a veil of fog over them which is quite beautiful.

Below is a small maple tree beginning to show its Fall colors.

The beautiful white flower below that looks like lace to
me. What do you think the flower is?

This hill is part of a very steep hill I walk up then down and this is the going down side. I love walking up and
down steep hills because it feels like I’m hiking in the mountains which I love and miss a lot.

This is a trunk of a big fir tree - the bottom part only with a small green maple in front of the tree trunk.

This is a hydrangea loosing its color and it still looks amazingly beautiful.

You know what am feeling jealous from mister after viewing this post like he is having all this fun viewing some amazing flowers, fields and to top it all off a deer family as well haha.

LOL 😂 that is my nephew. Don't worry he is 10 years younger than me and 60 years old and his mom is 80 years old. He has Mister on the leash. Mister is my nephews dog. It's fine to ask about who that is. No worries @liquidocelotytt 😊

Yes, his back legs. The dog is too heavy and needs to lose weight. Mister can manage to get his from paws up on the seat of the car but my nephew needs to help his back legs into the car seat. !BBH !CTP

The deer are indeed cute! We had 2 born on our property and they are still coming back all of the time!

The maple tree you speak of with the color is a Vine Maple. They tend to have tons of color when the summer is dry and hot, like this one!

The lacy flower is called Queen Anne's Lace and has some medicinal properties.

You are very welcome! Here in our neck of the woods, the vine maple is really the only hope of fall color we have. The Big Leaf Maples just turn yellow, which is pretty, but I like the variety of the reds, golds and oranges. The few Aspen around tend to turn black and not the golden yellow you would see in Colorado. The Alder and the Elm just wither and turn blackish grey, so uninteresting and depressing.

I haven't figured out why the aspen don't turn though. Maybe it's something to do with the air; the weather often gets hung up on the mountains nearby, so maybe it's just not conducive to it? Anyway, thank you! Take care and enjoy the week ahead!🤗💜🍁🍂🌻 !LADY

I have been feeling very tired with the change of the season happening. and the extra walking I have been doing. 😴 Yes it could be the air. I found the reason Elizabeth in the article Here is a quote from The Aspen Times.

"According to Ann Ewing at the local U.S. Forest Service office, the wet conditions encouraged the growth of an “aspen leaf blight fungus,” which smites the leaves just as they’re about to shut down for the year anyway.”Basically, the leaves will just turn black and fall off, instead of turning yellow,” she said, adding that “It doesn’t seem to hurt the tree, though.”

Interesting.......I kind of wondered. It's maybe a bit too humid here for them to reach full fall potential. In Colorado, it is dry! Standing in an Aspen grove in full fall color is amazing! Thanks for letting me know. I have been overly tired over the weekend, but I assumed it was because of leading worship. It takes a lot out of a person! Those are beautiful pictures, Barb! The deer look so peaceful. I remember being up at Hurricane Ridge and having a deer eat right out of my hand. So neat.

Hi, Lisa how are you? Great to see you and glad you like my deer pictures! I could not get too close to the deer or they will run away. There is deer hunting not far from here. Oh wow, Lisa! When did you visit Hurricane Ridge? I just love the Olympic Peninsula and the Mountains here. I live and the very southern end of the Olympic Forest. There is a tiny park here in Hoquiam called Elton Bennett Park that is untouched. @lisamgentile1961 !BBH !CTP

Wow, Lisa! That is awesome. It is beautiful here. It is a great place to live but I sure don't care for Seattle and surrounding close areas of Seattle. It's a big city with big problems due to greed. It is really nice away from there though. There are so many homeless people there now in Seattle and cities close to it. Out here is very small and it's better even though not a rich area. It's still lovely. There are home less here too but nothing like the big Seattle city. It's still very beautiful here.

Sounds like every big city everywhere now, Barb. I used to love to go to Chicago and loved big cities in general. Not so much now. It doesn't feel safe.
I don't like being near a crowd cuz that is where the bad stuff tends to happen. Looking at it from a distance is the way I like it now.

I was freezing temps here for a while now above freezing but not warm..

It did, Thank you! And it seems to be staying that way.
It was below freezing the other day and now it will be in the lower 50s today.
I am grateful that it's not snowing when I have to go out and drive. Like today! Dad has a dentist appointment this morning.
And the roads are clear and dry.
But yes, I do love to be able to put on more clothes and not sweat. LOL

Oh I'm so glad the temperature was right for you.
The 50s isn't bad but the 40s are pretty chilly and the 30s the rain chill goes to your bones!
Yes I understand driving in snow is difficult. It's mostly the other drivers that make it so bad. Snow can be very challenging to drive in and ice is scary.
I'm so glad the the roads were clear and dry for you.
Yes it's more fun putting on more clothes and fun to get cozy under blankets if it's possible.

It has been rainy and chilly here but not near freezing at all.
It's in the 40s and 50s with a lot of rain.
People are so stupid to ignore the road conditions. So many are thoughtless about driving in the cold. Yes, black ice does not show up at all. It is best to drive at lower speeds which hardly anyone will do.
