My Actifitivity: October 24 2022
Monday.
Yesterday's actifitivity.
A fine autumn day with lots and lots of walking and a bit of mycology for the #mushroomseveryday routine.
These little, chunky, brown friends have started popping up all around the forest. Locally they are referred to as "Hallimasch" but apparently they don't have a common name in english, they're only referred to by their latin specification: armillaria ostoyae
They grow in massive colonies on every second coniferous tree stump.
You'll find conflicting information about their edibility in different sources. They definitely have to be cooked for a good while to be palatable but even then, apparently some people still get a quasi-allergic reaction with flu-like symptoms.
I've never tried them myself, but they do look quite nice, especially when young.
Thanks for your time!
