actaylor just finished a 6.34km run, that lasted for 37 minutes.
This run helped actaylor burn 181.3 calories.

Description from Strava: I know you’re not supposed to train the day before a race BUT..! I had surprise guests turn up mid-week with bucketloads of snelle jelles, hugs and laughter. And, alas, the running fell but the wayside... Oh well. Absolutely never discount your friends! 🧡 Still grinning from the time spent with them. Love and encouragement are major components in training, too, you know? Still, felt I had to fit in a little activity today - so I guess this is it. Excited for tomorrow! X

I know you’re not supposed to train the day before a race

Ah well on the contrary, many people will do a little 'shake-out' run on the day before hand, so as long as you cut down on intensity/volume for the rest of the week (and a sneaky glance at your strava confirms this) then you'll be totally fine :-)

Have fun tomorrow!

Oh!! Just seen this. Aee... really? Well then, I was misinformed haha. It makes sense to do something small the day beforehand.

Hey, just want to note: thanks for all the support, Dan - it's really motivating to be at the receiving end of so much encouragement. 💫🌞 That's what I'll take away from all this - especially rewarding during the run, with kiddos holding buckets of sweets and volunteers dishing out water and energy gels. And the cheering, clapping, posters. That's what made me keep up pace today, for sure. Oodles of gratitude for all the kindness. It really goes a very long way.

No worries Alexander, a little bit of encouragement goes a long way :-) ... I find that running is often a lonely solo affair (and I enjoy it for that reason) but its helpful to connect with other people, and even just the kudos and comments on Strava helps with that.

In fact this morning I was due to go for a run, and wasn't really feeling it. And I logged onto strava and saw a couple of other people post runs they had done, including someone who had struggle recently but had recently managed a much more positive session grinding out a longer run than usual. Then your post appeared with a pic of you with a medal and a massive grin despite the rain, and that was the motivation I needed to get outside and get my run done. So thank you ;-)

And yes, you can't beat the atmosphere of a race, running with thousands of other like minded people from all walks of life, and being clapped and cheered by the crowds, its a great feeling... and a little intoxicating!
