The National Stadium of Peru, popularly known as the José Díaz2 Stadium, the National Stadium of Lima or simply the National Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium located in the Santa Beatriz neighborhood, in the Lima district, belonging to the Peruvian capital region of the same name .
It has a maximum capacity for 43 086 spectators: 39 635 in its four grandstands 3451 in the buildings of box-suites. Many people, including sports chroniclers, call it "El Coloso de José Díaz", due to the adjoining street that bears the name of the Argentine military, who belonged to the Army of the Andes.
The National Stadium is the venue in which the Peruvian National Soccer Team plays. It also hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games and Lima 2019 Parapan American Games.
