I guess the korean bbq is designed for meat lovers. But there is a lot of food with more vegetable friendly options. Usually anything near the temple or mountain has plenty of vegetables.
Oh Cairns is quite far. However, I know a lot of Koreans live in Australia (they call it hoju). Maybe you can look for their restaurants. Most of the grilling beef that isn't Korean comes from Australia.

I can't eat more meat. 😁 Its like killing, but Korea BBQ restaurant is always worth to visit sometimes.
