En unas horas tendremos el inicio de la segunda jornada de la Premier League. Tal vez el tema de los derechos de transmisión hagan que haya un número importante de juegos los viernes. Ya hemos visto esta predominante desde la temporada pasada. Varios de los que ganaron su primer partido se enfrentarán entre sí. Aparte de eso, echemos un vistazo a tres de los partidos más interesantes.

TOTTENHAM vs. MANCHESTER UNITED

TOTTENHAM tuvo un difícil encuentro contra una de las agradables revelaciones de la temporada pasada. No pudo pasar del empate a 2 goles con el Brentford. Al menos conserva el invicto. Sin embargo, lo que más ha hecho ruido en éstos días es la salida de Harry Kane al Bayern Munich. Una gran pérdida para la Premier League, aunque entendemos las razones de éste hombre. ¡Ya quiere empezar a alzar copas! Así sea fuera de su tierra natal. Junto con la salida del francés Lloris, el coreano Son es el nuevo capitán del equipo. De seguro volveremos a ver a Richarlison encargarse de la ofensiva del equipo, aprovechando su gran oportunidad. Los extremos ahora cobran una gran importancia para acompañar al que juega en la posición de 9, y Kulusevski ha demostrado que tiene las herramientas para eso. Aún es duda si Romero estará presente. Quienes definitivamente no estarán es Sessegnon y Bentancur.

MANCHESTER UNITEDganó su primer partido en casa por la mínima diferencia. Dos defensas se vistieron de delanteros en una segunda jugada y pudieron ganarse los tres puntos. ¿Fue el mejor Manchester? Seguro que no. Y su entrenador Erik ten Hag dijo frente a los micrófonos que espera que la próxima presentación haya un mejor juego. Y aunque vimos a un Bruno Fernandes haciendo unos pases exquisitos, para lograr grandes cosas esta temporada deberán subir el nivel y mantenerlo. Ahora será un rival fuerte, tal vez uno directo, y por eso llama tanto la atención éste encuentro. Los diablos rojos han hecho buenas contrataciones, gente joven, talentosa y con experiencia en equipos grandes de Inglaterra y el mundo. Seguramente veremos desde el principio a hombres como Onana y Mount. Las sensibles bajas serán Malacia y Hojlund.

Los spurs no han podido ganar en los últimos cinco encuentros en los que les ha tocado recibir a los diablos rojos. Apenas han arañado dos empates y caído en tres oportunidades. ¿Habrá pancartas alusivas a Harry Kane mañana en el Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium?

MANCHESTER CITY vs. NEWCASTLE

MANCHESTER CITY ganó su primer encuentro de la temporada, venciendo al recién ascendido Burnley 0-3. Y apenas hace un par de días lograron levantar su primera copa de la temporada, venciendo al campeón de la Europa League. Ahora, sin mucho tiempo para celebrar, encara una difícil visita a su estadio. La enfermería a acogido en sus cálidos brazos a Kevin de Bruyne quien se lesiona por enésima vez y estará fuera del campo por varios meses. En dicho encuentro, fue sustituido por Kovacic, que recién llega desde Londres, y fue un cambio natural, que no afecta la estrategia del entrenador. Por eso, es de esperar que el croata acompañe en el medio a Rodri y se encargen de distribuir y equilibrar el juego. Silva, Dias y Stones están en duda para participar en éste enfrentamiento.

NEWCASTLE fue otro que ganó con contundencia. De hecho, su abultado marcador final lo acredita como el líder del campeonato, aunque ya sabemos que ésto es relativo luego de apenas una jornada. Se vio en muy buena forma a Isak que no tuvo tiempo de mostrarse la campaña anterior. Tonali ha sido una incorporación muy interesante, y se vio concentrado y entregado a los objetivos del club en el engramado. Ahora, las urracas sentirán el peso de un calendario europeo en el cual tenían tiempo sin marcar en sus agendas. Y aunque se enfrentan al campeón, tal vez puedan sacar ventaja de las horas de descanso que tuvieron por encima de ellos. No habrá bajas importantes en éste equipo.

Newcastle buscará la mala racha que tiene frente al Manchester City. Los últimos cuatro partidos en el Etihad, los ciudadanos han sido aplastantes. Y no solo eso, que no han permitido goles. Veremos un interesante duelo por la punta del campeonato en el amanecer del torneo.

WEST HAM vs. CHELSEA

WEST HAM UNITED visitó al Bournemouth en la jornada inaugural y pactó un empate. Los dirigidos por David Moyes jugarán por primera vez en el London Stadium ésta temporada, y será para un derby de la ciudad. Édson Álvarez es uno de los fichajes que ha sido destacado por la prensa, pero no precisamente por la calidad del jugador o sus características favorables para el equipo, sino con la posible relación que puede llegar a tener con el entrenador, quien tiene algunos antecedentes con otro mexicano. Nosotros estamos en el equipo que aboga por la profesionalidad de Moyes, y la razón expuesta para no contar con él para éste importante encuentro es muy razonable y justificada. También, James Ward-Prowse es otro que ha llegado al club, jugador experimentado y conocedor de ésta importante liga. Zouma y Emerson volverán a verse con su anterior equipo, aunque luego de su casi completa renovación, es prácticamente un equipo nuevo y desconocido.

CHELSEA está completando un verdadero éxodo masivo. Pero cuando no parecía haber más sorpresas ni desembolsos importantes, apareció el flamante contratación de Moisés Caicedo por una cifra récord. El monto de la inversión desde la llegada de los nuevos dueños ha superado los nueve ceros, y aún no se descartan más nombres. Kepa armó sus maletas y se mudó a la capital de España, para volver a llenar un hueco que deja el portero belga titular. Los blues tuvieron un durísimo estreno en casa recibiendo al Liverpool en un autentico duelo de titanes. Sobrevivió a la caída, y el marcador terminó en una igualdad. A la baja de Nkunku se le ha sumando hace poco la de James por lo que es muy poco probable que veamos al inglés en el derby. Seguramente, Malo Gusto vea una oportunidad para mostrarse y luchar por el puesto de titular. Duelos como estos son clave para aquellos que quieren quedarse en una plantilla que no le temblará el pulso para seguir desincorporando nombres para que el dinero siga corriendo.

En los últimos tres partidos entre estos dos vecinos han habido todos los resultados posibles. Éste será el partido más importante del día domingo.

EL JUGADOR

LUÍS DÍAZ ha vuelto. En el partido inaugural estuvo brillante, rápido, lúcido... Marcó el único gol del equipo gracias a una jugada rápida en la que anticipa al defensor azul y con fuerza ganó la posición. 76 minutos fueron suficientes para mostrar su calidad y recordar por qué está en éste club tan grande. Luego de varios meses de inactividad, queremos ver qué tal evoluciona su juego, y si podrá retomar su nivel, sin ese latente miedo de volver a la enfermería.
